Costco continues to enjoy tremendous growth in the Southeast. So much that it needed additional space to two buildings to accommodate its expanding needs. Further, the project required much more than the extra room. Underground utilities and more trailer parking needed to be part of the mix.
If an 89-day schedule was not challenging enough, several other factors tested our problem-solving ability. Record rainfall, massive demand for concrete in the Atlanta area, and ongoing utility company delays all combined to give our team plenty of extra hurdles to manage. Instead, we got to work, demolishing and replacing four acres of concrete to accommodate a change in elevation, correcting a one-foot site location error by the civil engineer, and substantial anchor bolt repairs due to the steel erector.
Despite these issues, we found a way. Not only is this project on schedule, but the depot’s overall operations have not been interrupted. That is the result of knowing how to solve problems, work efficiently, and always keep the customer’s needs top of mind.
