COSTCO DISTRIBUTION CENTER COLD EXPANSIONS / Atlanta, Georgia

Costco needed to expand its cold storage operations in Atlanta. The need was immediate. Demand meant they couldn’t put it on ice any longer. So when it was time to act, they asked us to move quickly. And move we did.

Refrigeration requires a varied set of skills from any construction team. To ensure a smooth process, that team has to fully understand all the intricacies of the job, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems all work together in a seamless way. So we did more than work in a hurry. We made sure we communicated clearly at all times. We removed the freezer on-site to help Costco revise the site’s requirements to cold only. Then, to expand the space, we used tilt-wall construction methods, as well as pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) to achieve the right balance of speed and versatility.

From the time we began to the time Costco started working in the expanded space, the entire project was finished within six months. Best of all, the project went smoothly without hampering Costco’s ongoing facility operations. Of course, that’s what happens when you hire a construction firm that operates with cool efficiency on every project.
