SEI Breaks Ground for Costco In The Sunshine State

Looks like the Orlando area is getting another attraction. It’s not an amusement park. Instead, it’s the region’s fifth Costco warehouse, this one located in Clermont. And SEI is leading the way.

“We’re excited that Costco trusts us with yet another of their warehouses,” says Byron Hood, Project Manager. “We’ve enjoyed a long relationship with them that’s still going strong. They rely on us to complete projects on time and keep all the project elements moving smoothly.”

Construction for the warehouse, all 157,209 sf of it, began in early May. However, unlike the rides at Disney World and Universal, a few miles to the east, there shouldn’t be many thrills and chills on this project.

“With a level building site and no onsite water or ponds,” Hood adds, “we don’t see a complicated project.”

Then again, this project will have a new twist: an electric vehicle charging area. Hood is looking forward to helping make this amenity a reality.

“More and more cars on the road are electric, and Costco always stays ahead of the needs of its members. So we’re working with a contractor who specializes in constructing charging stalls. While they build the actual stalls, we’ll coordinate in any number of ways to meet the specialized needs of that kind of facility. It requires delicate timing and ongoing communication, like choreographing a ballet.”

The project’s expected completion date is November 2023. Thanks again, Costco, for your trust in us. By all indications, this new warehouse is bound to play a starring role as Orlando continues to grow. The project’s expected completion date is November 2023.
